Golden Gate Restaurant will be ringing in the Chinese New Year, Year of the Pig (Lunar 4717), with a FREE Lion Dance Show in the parking lot on Saturday, February 9th from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. There will be a Lion Dance Show performed by the ShaoLin Center of Waukesha, Music, Firecrackers (200,000 firecrackers - Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, State Representative Scott Allen, Alderman and Waukesha County Supervisor Kathleen Cummings and others will be lighting the firecrackers to ring in the New Year), we will be handing out Red Envelopes stuffed with Lucky Money ($1 to $100 bills - while they last) and bamboo 2019 calendars (while they last).

Chinese New Year is the most celebrated and colorful Chinese event, the lunar new year 4717 begins on February 5, 2019, the celebration last for 7 days. Billions of people in China and around the world will take to the streets to celebrate the Chinese New Year with bell ringing, lighting of firecracker and watching lion dances.

People born during the year of the Pig (the twelfth sign) think logically and are able to fix whatever problems, they are kind and able to provide for the family, warm-hearted and wealthy.

The Traditional Chinese Lion Dance will be performed by the Shaolin Center of Waukesha.  The performance will take place outside in the Golden Gate Restaurant parking lot.  No tickets are needed and is free to the public.
